The One-Sentence-Post Story Thread

With the success of the Four-Words-Post Story thread, I thought it might be time to take it to a new level in a new thread. The purpose of this thread is fairly straight forward just like the other thread: To tell a continuing story in a series of posts. But in this thread each post must contain one sentence of any length. A paragraph can be ended by typing [paragraph end] after the sentence (that does not count as a sentence).

Each post adds to the ones before it, and should logically work with the sentences that came before. However, the story is free to go in whatever direction whim and/or fancy deem to take it. I hope you enjoy it.

Additions To Original Post (to provide more clarity and flexibility):

- A change of scene can be indicated by [Change Of Scene: (Text Describing New Scene)] This does not count as a sentence but must be inserted before the sentence.

- A flashback can be indicated by the following: [Flashback: (Text describing how far back the flashback is)]. A flashback can be ended by the following: [Flashback Ends]. This does not count as a sentence and can be inserted before or after the sentence.

- A dream sequence can be indicated by [Dream Sequence Begins] and ended by [Dream Sequence Ends]. This does not count as a sentence and can be inserted before or after the sentence.

- A [paragraph end] can be inserted either before or after the sentence.

To begin:

Once upon a time, in a land without a name, there was a confused young man.

His confusion began suddenly one day in a McDonald's when he became obsessed about the sauces which accompanied Chicken McNuggets.

Needless to say, chickens were more concerned about the contents of the McNuggets boxes, aside from the Minions action figures.

But our hero, completely unconcerned with chicken issues, just couldn't understand why there was no Horseradish-Pineapple-Ginger sauce available, as he was convinced that this was what he had ordered for the last five years on each of his personal McChicken Mondays.

Determined to find a reason for the absence of his favorite sauce, he decided to go on a quest to find the Source Of Sauce itself.

He first however had to find the perfect attire for his quest - should he dress like Sherlock Holmes or Dolly Parton?

After long deliberation, he decided to wear the Dolly Parton dress, but not without Holmes' indispensable deerstalker.

Attempting to fill the bustline of Dolly's make-believe dress was his first challenge, and he wondered, "How do I fill a 50 lb potato sack with just two pounds of French fries?"

The obvious choice were the uneaten Chicken McNuggets: bullet-proof, devilishly attractive and able to serve as emergency ration, all in one!

But once again he was frozen by his obsession: which sauce would be the best adhesive for the chicken nuggets?

Fortunately, he was so frozen by his obsession that the McNuggets, following the unshakeable laws of physics, also froze, forming two compact, albeit slightly bizarre shaped, blocks in his dress, in which he now took the first steps on his quest.

Boarding a tramp steamer destined for the Far East, out hero immediately attracted the attention of all hungry wildlife on board, and was forced to seek refuge in one of the lifeboats slung high above the deck.

Unfortunately, that wasn't good enough -- following the scent trail of the delicious chicken nuggets, several crew members, took it upon themselves to climb up to the lifeboats and drag bring our endangered hero down to the galley.

After surreptitiously checking the price of Dolly Parton-inspired chicken nuggets on eBay, the crew attempted to convince our confused young man that it would be to his benefit to award them guardianship of the chicken nuggets for the duration of the quest.

But he refused to fall for their wicked suggestions, knowing that he would need chicken nuggets in order to test any sauce that he found along the way.
