Sync highlights and notes with Syncthing

I have a library folder that is synced between my phone, tablet and kobo with syncthing. At first the folder contained the .sdr files that store highlights and notes, but with that it also synced the margins, font size... and each device has a different screen so the settings have to be different. Every time that I opened a book in a different device I had to adjust the settings again.

Is there any way to sync the highlights and notes between devices but not the individual book settings without installing anything else? Just the syncthing sync, any setting that I may have missed?

Unfortunately no. They all are stored in one file.

I found a workaround, every time I open a book on a different device (Which is not many times) I can use document icon > document settings > reset document settings to default and it will get formatted to that particular device.

It would be perfect if I could tie that setting to a gesture, but for now it's good enough.

You can create a new profile with current document settings:

Top menu -> Tools -> Profiles -> New with current document settings

Then open the new profile in the menu, check "Show in action list"

Then you can assign a gesture to it (from the "General" category).

That works perfectly, just what I was looking for, thank you!
