I do lend my van to my son 5-6 times per year around the end of a month. He has a group of friends who seem to have someone moving so he uses the van to help move the items that you don't want to trust to a mover. OTOH, he lends me his car when he has the van. I just wish that one day I would get into his car and the fuel gauge would not be flirting with empty.

Being one of the less than 13% of the human population that grew up in the USA.
Graduating from school (though home schooling more popular in USA than elsewhere for those with a choice), eating burgers & French fries, driving a car and voting Democrat or Republican. Saying Paris, France so it's not confused with somewhere in the USA. Then there are hyphenated Americans. A phenomenon that hardly exists in other countries. Many of them seem to be average Americans with a dash of ethnicity differentiating them from the dominant WASP (at least maybe they are dominant in the East, not in Utah and other places). Actually USA is like a collection of countries and those that dominate want to fit everyone into a standard Average American mould (cookie cutter?). The "real" Americans don't get much visibility. Well, if you are asking me: driving an SUV to a warehouse store to pick up three months worth of groceries to haul back to your McMansion.
I asked the Bing version of ChatGPT and it said: the “average American” is a white female, between 30 and 34 years old, with German ancestors. She has a net worth of $30,500 and a life expectancy of 79.3 years. She speaks English at home, has a high school diploma or higher, and is in the civilian labor force. She lives in a household with 2.60 persons and spends about 27 minutes commuting to work. |
