"book is being prepared for reading on the server": what files are created?
When seeing this message: "book is being prepared for reading on the server", what files are being created on the server?
I run calibre portable on one computer and make an offline copy of it to another computer that then runs calibre-server. When web users access calibre-server and get the message "book is being prepared for reading on the server", I guess some new files are being created and cached so that opening the same book will be quicker. What are where are these new files that are created so I can avoid overwriting/deleting them when I do my offline copies? |

What about user-specific information like book progress? Does the server also save that info in the cache folder?

There is only one database shared by the GUI and the server? Then that means I'll lose user progress when I overwrite the server's calibre files with the ones from another location.

If you are sharing the same library with both then obviously they share the same database.

Yes, all book relatrd information is stored in metadata.db. User accounts as in usernames, passwords, restrictions are stored in a separate database since this is not book or library specific information.
