Thanks for reply. The similarity of calibre snippets and Gedit snippets made me assume both were derived from the same source in that both are finalized AFTER a sequence of keys with ctrl-j (or Tab), whereas compose-key style snippets are initiated BEFOREHAND with the compose-key (quite often ctrl_r) followed by a sequence of keys. I would prefer being able to alter the finalization key(s). Neither does Gedit appear to allow changing from Tab to another key for finalization. Best regards, Pop
